ARES Membership Requirements
The following are the ARES membership requirements to be recognized as an ARES member in Bedford County and be eligible for the Amateur Radio License tag discount from the State. 1. Must be a current dues paid member in local ARES club (Bedford County Amateur Radio Service [BCARS]). 2. Must participate in at least one ARES "net" per quarter. 3. Must participate in at least one club event per year. 4. Must complete ICS courses 100, 200, 700, and 800 within first year of club membership. The EMA director approves list for license tags per the above and provides that list to county clerk office. If you do not meet above requirements, then you will not be listed on his list, and you will not receive a discount at the clerk's office.

The following are the ARES membership requirements to be recognized as an ARES member in Bedford County

  1. Complete ARES Registration and accepted by Bedford County TN ARRL EC
    BCARS Membership is not required but is highly recommended.

  2. Must participate in at least one ARES "net" per quarter.

  3. Participate in one public service event per year.

  4.  Enroll in and submit completion certificates for ICS courses 100, 200, 700, and 800 w

  5.  EMA director has appointed Steve Haber AA4SH to maintain list for license tags provides that list to county clerk office. 
    If you do not meet above requirements, then you will not be listed on his list, and you will not receive a discount at the clerk's office.
